 Now on display at the Childress County Heritage Museum: The Peace Circle Exhibit

This powerful exhibit shares the stories of leaders who came together in 1843 to sign the Treaty of Bird’s Fort a moment of courage, compromise, and resilience.

Through portraits, history panels, and artifacts, you’ll meet chiefs and captains from tribes including the Caddo, Delaware, Keechi, Chickasaw, Cherokee, and more. Each carries a story of leadership and the vision for peace on this land.

Come stand face-to-face with history, and honor the voices who shaped it.
